Taking Back Beautiful
So, yeah, I haven’t been updating this…

I could make excuses, but I’m not going too. I haven’t done anything with this blog in a while, and when that happens I always feel it’s time for something new.

Stay tuned!

Workout time!

So I finally realized this month that I really don’t enjoy running, and that it was pointless to keep doing something I didn’t enjoy. I’m working toward seeing exercise as something enjoyable, rather than just a means to lose weight. And running wasn’t helping me achieve that mindset.

Since I don’t belong to a gym when I’m not at school I figured I’d go out on a limb and try belly dancing! It’s a great workout, and most importantly it’s FUN!

There are a few other videos like this one up on youtube. Try it and tell me what you think!

It sounds cocky, but…

Feeling crappy about your looks?

Take pictures of yourself.

I know it sounds conceded, but it works. Seriously. Go grab a camera or a webcam or anything. Put on something that makes you feel sexy, whether it be a dress or pajamas, put on makeup, or don’t put on anything at all.

The purpose of this isn’t to play model or post your pictures on facebook for everyone to see. The purpose is to feel confident looking at yourself, to really look hard and see how beautiful you are.

It may take a while, but really look for your beauty and you’ll find it!

When you feel like giving up on recovery, remember why you’ve held on for so long.

“I breathe in slowly. Food is life. I exhale, take another breath. Food is life. And that’s the problem. When you’re alive, people can hurt you. It’s easier to crawl into a bone cage or a snowdrift of confusion. It’s easier to lock everybody out.
But it’s a lie.
